This Day. A fire occurred at Onehunga early this morning, by which an unoccupied stable, owned by a ploughman was burned down. The building was not insured, the policy having lapsed only three days ago. N o clue has yet been obtained to throw light on the mystery re the body of the infant found on Shelly Beach, the skull is fractured in two places, indicating death by violence. A telegram has been sent to the Colonial S ecretary by Mr A. D. Bennett stating that a number of men who desire to be enrolled to represent this colony in the Soudan, are willing to leave here and join in Australia. In view of this it has been decided to continue the enrollment of men here, and at Dunedin. At the second day's races at Dargaville, Mystery won the Foresters' Plate and the Gumdiggers Purse.
