Mareb 4. Yesterday was observed as a public holiday to celebrate the departure of New South Wales contingent of troops for the Soudan. Immcnse erowds lined the streets, and at all points of vantage great enthusiasrn prevailed. Six hundred sailors and marines, with their guns, accompanied the troops to the Circular Quay, where they were addressed by His Excellency the Governor. They then marehed on board of the transport-ship, 800 strong.
