This Day. It is expected that there will be a large gathering oi people at the Theatre Royal this evening to hear Mr R. T. Booth's farewell address.
Another fire occurred early thi s morning, by which a house in Rokeb y street occupied by Miss Wilson, know n as Black J nlia. The house was burne d to the ground and all the furniture destroyed, nothing was saved, besides her clothes Julia lost £20 in money. The adjoining houses had a narrow escape. The fireis supposed to be the work of an incendiary. Madame YaJentine who owns the house was arrest - ed this morning, charged with wilfully and maliciously setting tire to the building, she was taken before the Bench and remanded for seven days, bail heiag refused. The house was insured for £300 and the furniture for £100. Mr B. S. Corlett, of Tauranga, who met with an accident while working at Te Paki recently, was discharged from the Hospital onSaturday, having recovered from the injury to his leg.
