LONDON, February 23. On tlie refusal of the Imperial Government to accept additional Colonial troops the Times states that the reply is ungratefnl, and expresses the opinion that the aid of the Colonial troops will be needed. Earl Derby will shortly introduce an Enabling Bill for Anstralasian Federation in the House of Lords. The Prince of Wales will visit Ireland in April. On the death of General Gordon. In his sqeech on the motion of censure, Mr Gladstone strongly defended the Egyptian poliey of the Govern - ment, and in regard to the death of General Gordon, he urged that the same was unavoidable under the cireumstances.
