Mr Booths farewell meeting was to have taken place to-night, but has to be postponed. owing to Mr Booth being unwell, and unable to leave. A destructive fire oceurred early this morning in Hobson street, resulting in the burning down of a large building known as Lyncum, and the twohouses adjoining. Considerable difficulty was " expierenced in suppressing the fire, in ■ consequence of the hose not working i properly. All the buildings were owned by Mr Foley, and the insurance is £1,300. The large hall was known some time ago as the "Kentucky dancing saloon."

Old St. Pauls Church was sold on Saturday for £150. It is to be removed. _
