February 12. The Svdney Cup has closed with seventy-five entries. A Cabin°t Council was held to-day when it was decided to make an offer to the Imperial Govermnent to despatchfrom New South Wales to Suakim within a month two battalions of I iifantrv oOO str inn, t0 form part of an expidition to the Soudan. Considerable excitement prevails here in consequence of the decision of the Government.
