According to an American paper, tkere is living in Waskirigton County, Ark., a Metkodist minister, wko is now over 113 years oid fiis name is Tkomas A. Tenant. t ixty years ago ke was admitted to the Missouri Conference and assigned to the Arkansas cireuit. The number of persons killed in Tndia ky wild animals and snakes in 1883 was 22,905, as against 22,125 in tke previous year. Of these, 20,067 deatks were due to snake kites, 287 to woivt s, and 517 to leopords. Tke lcss of cattle frorn the same cause amounted to 47,472 animals, keing an increase of 771 on the figures for the previous year. Professor Parker of Dunedin and Professor Thomasof Auckland arrived here about ten days ago, and proceeded to Karewa Island for the purpose of collecting speeimens &c., they remained on the island for about a week during which time they collected 5 cases and 1 kag of larje lizards, also 1 jarof lizards which they have preserved in spirits, a numker of birds of diff erent species, and a quantity of eggs kesides many speeimens of various kinds.
