This Day. Mr R.T. Booth had a farewell lecture last nirht, there was a most enthusiaitic gathering, the building being crowded. Mr Booth will visit the Hot Lakes in company with the Eevd Mr Rice.
Testerday afternoon Mr North, saddler, met with a severe aceident while attempting to get into one of the tramcars, he had a large roll of leather under his arm and while getting up the steps did not notice that another ear was coming past on the adjacent line, which in passing struck the roll of leather throwing him forward and the carriage he was about to get in passed oyer his foot eutting th'1 boot with tho flange of the wheel and injured his foot very much. This is the first aceident that has happened to anyone using the tramway since it has been opened. The Auckland Tramway Company eommenced running cars on the new sectionto Ponsonby, yesterday. The cars were crowded. The annual election of licensing committees for the inunicipal licensing divisions took place yesterday, when the Tenperance candidates were returned unopposed.
