Multum in parvo. Wed.mes:day, J anuary 21st, 1885. C.A.Clarke has had his hair eut. Kate, the well-known tourists' guide arrived in this town last night, from Ohinemutu. Mr J. Tarawera has taken ninety excursionists to the West Coast Sounds her 'tween decks have been fitted up as a theatre for the trip. We notice that the local Telegraph 0ffi.ee are again publishing the M eteorological observations of the difl'erent Telegraph stations throughout the colony. F. Bisley, the schoolmaster at Motueka, who shot himself last week, has been found to be £400 and £300 deficient in his accounts with the Forresters' and Oddfellows' societies respeetively. He borrowed the gun ostensibly to shoot ducks. Mr Chadwick has not lost mueh time in making use of the iron rails granted to him by the County Couneil, for use on the Yictoria Wharf. Messrs J. J. Bennett and Hegarty are now engaged taking up the old wooden ones, and replacing them with the iron. The tourist traffic via Tauranga, appears to be brisk just now. Kobertson took upwards of 20 tourists to the Lakes yesterday, and two loads came down with him, and left for Auckland per Wellington, last night. The Tauanga route is evidently the favorite way of getting to the Wonderland of the Southern Hemisphere.
