RACING MATCH.

A foot-race for £10 a side from Ohinemutu to Tauranga, between Wm Duncan and Alfred Clayton, took place to-day, starting from Ohinemutu at three minutes past six this morning, and arriving at the Yorkshire G-rey at twenty-one minutes past one this afternoon. The two competitors- kept well together nntil they arrived at the junction of the Judea and Cameron road, when putting on a spurt Duncan came in a winner by about 200 yards, and as fresh as a daisy. Clayton' s wind gave way just at the last.
