AUCKLAND,

This Day. The Good Templar delegates left to-day, per s.s. Tarewera, for Dunedin to attend the Annual Grand Lodge session.

It is quite possible that Sir Julius Yogel will be so far reeoyered by his residence at Waiwera as to be able to address a meeting in Auckland, in a short time. At the Supreme Court crimnal session, yesterday,^ Edward Dumont was sentenced to six mohtns imprisonment for maliciously wounding Francis Durant. Private Sloman, Marine guard of the IJnited States' covette, died at the hospital yesterday. The funeral took plaee to.day, with militaiv honors. Y osterday afternoon Paul Purchase employed as machiuist at the Free Press office, met with a serious aceident while he was working at the printing machine. His right hand was eaught and drawn under the cylinder. Purchase s hand was in a shocking stal e. He was remoyed to the hospital where he was attended to by the house surgeon, Dr Bond found it' necessary to amputate the hand. Purchase has a wif e and family. The Hinemoa arrived alongside the Queen Street wharf at about eleven o'clock last night, from Waiwera, she has brought up the Hon Mr Buckley, Pon Mr Tole, Mr Pennyfather, (the (xovenors private secretary,) Gr. S. Cooper, (under secretary,) and Mr Mitchell. All that can be said to the future movements of the Hinemoa, is that she is ready to put to sea at a moments notice.
