AUCKLAND,
This Day. A shooting affray took plaee Sunday night in Darby street, between nine and ten o'elock. A negro named John Brown sliot another negro named Tliomas Brown, with a revolver, he fired fonr shots, missing two, one shot went right throngh the man another 1 )d°-in2" in his breast-bone wbieh was O O extraeted by Dr Dawson, the wounded man was taken to the Hospital. The asailant has been captnred hy the poliee and lodged injail. Theinjured man says that he and John Brown had tea at Franks' resturant together they were both sober and had no quarrel, John Brown left half an hour before him, on coming out of the resturant he noticed John Brown walkup and down in front of the premises at the corner of Darby Street. They met and John exclaimed " You T — , I have been waiting for you" drew revolver and fired. The Doctor does not think the wounds will prove fatal unless inflamation or erysipilas set in. John Brown charged with attempting to murder Thomas Brown was brought up at the Police Court yesterday, and remanded for eight days. Thomas is in a very precarious condition.
