DUNEDIN,
This day. A strange fatility occured at Seacliff e lunatic asylum on New Year's day, two warders — William Matthewson and Gordon Ingram were larking, when the former asked the latter to strike him in the chest, Ingram did so and Matthewson fell down dead. At the inquest the evidence was to the effect that no quarreling had takon place at the time the blow was struck. Ingram and Matthewson were good friends. The j ury returned a verdict of manslaughter against Gordon Ingram.
