LONDON, December 3. The ship Berengarin, which left Melbourne for London, on August 9, while proceeding to Sunderland, struck on a rock near Galloper light, on the coast of Essex, and sank shortly afterwards. 11 of those on board were saved, but the Captain and 16 others are still missing. _ The new Postmaster-general has decided that all mails for New Zealand shall be sent alternately by the 'Frisco route, and direct Steamers.
