DAIRYING IN CAMBRIDGE.
£177,000 DISTRIBUTED THIS SEASON. It speaks well for the productivity of the Cambridge district and of th« great importance of the dairying industry to the community as a whole when it is stated that since the beginning of the present season the two local companies have distributed the huge snra of £177,324 to their suppliers for but-ter-fat supplied. It is also of interest to note that of the co-operative companies in the Waikato, apart from the big N.Z. Dairy Company, the Cambridge Company heads the list for payments for butter-fat supplied with £153,700. The total represents £105,800 for cheese and £47, 950 for butter. For butter-fat supplied for January the company is advancing £22,500; of which £16,800 is for cheese on the basis of Is 4d and £5700 for butter on the basis of Is 3d. Compared with the corresponding period of last year there has been a decrease of 19,0001bs in the but-tcr-fat supplied. Cheese production started on August 20th, the advance in respect of .that month being £3700. The other monthly payments were; September, £15,800; Octobf?** £23,000; November, £24,500; December, £22,000; and January, £16,800.
