TRENTHAM, Last Night. Conditions at Trcnthnm were similar to last year when the Wellington match was fired, competitors being soaked on the mounds. The last men to go down at GOO yards had to contend with heavy rain, the targets being a blur. A break in the weather decided the executive to continue with the Taranaki match in the afternoon, the marksmen being upset by the cold and showers. Walton won the Wellington match with a score of 94. his can! reading 555455455-1 and 5545454555 respectively. Graham registered -1555555555 at 500 yards and 554445-155-1 at 600 yards Last year the Wellington match was won by ,T. Yeandle ( Ashburtonj with 1)3-counted out ami 86.
The Taranaki match was changed to the Otago, and after firing 800 yards under trying conditions shooting was abandoned for the day on account of the blinding rain. On Tuesday the second range will be fired, also the Taranaki match. \. O’Donnell (Pctone) and ,H. Feast (Greytown are leading for the Bolt after the conclusion of the fourth match. The Trentham Aggregate for the short range matches was secured by Feast with 418. In .1927 West won with 409. the previous year Hoofs took it with 432 and in 1925 Anderson won with 414.
