MAGISTRATE INPLICT3 FINE OF '£2s AUCKLAND, Last Night. "I am quite convinced lie was loitering for purposes of betting," said Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., in announcing his decision in a case where Francis Robert Bennett, alias "Butler" Bennett was charged with loitering outside the Takapuna racecourse on January 2Sth and 30th last for the purpose, of betting. "Half of the questions put to him in Court he refused to answer,"'added the Magistrate, ''And his evidence was not given in a satisfactory manner by any means. On one charge Bennett is fined £25."
