BOWLING.
OI'ES ISO OF THIS LOCAL GREEN. On Monday, under the most favourable weather conditions, a large assembly of bowlers and their triemla gathered to assist the J-ievin Bowling Ol'ub in opening its season. Visitors were present from the various neighbouring clubs, Shannon, Otaki, Foxton aaid two or three others being represented. After an appropriate speech by the President, Mr N. <J. Hold away, Mrs Holdaway was asked to perform the time-honoured custom of bowling the first bowl and declaring the Green open "for play. A match, President v. Vice-Presi-dent, was then played and after some very pleasant games the rinks finishedi jas follows i Canning, Ityder, Bull (skip.) 27 v. Shankland, Butt, Gibson (skip) 9.
