Felton, the Australian challenger, Wat Barry, the holder, by eight lengtlis in the race for the world's sculling championship this afternoon. The race was rowed in a hard, northwest wind. Felton, taking advantage of the smoother water on the Middlesex shore, led by ten lengths at the end of a mile, and this he maintained throughout, rowing strongly and well, ■Barry 'being unable to make any impression. An Australian escort conveyed Father O'Donnell to the Tower of Lon- • don, whore he has boon placed under open arrest on connection with charges arising out of his visit to Ireland.
