A selected all-star programme will- be screened at Farland's to-night. Tlie settlings are superb and them are some wonderful spectacular scenes, amongst which may be singled out a tremendous fire in a subway, wihich is almost too realistic. The action takes place in modern (New York. On Saturday the management with its usual enterprise has provided for a big double star programme for the week-end. "An Even Break" is a picture drama that has set all New York talking. It tells of a beauitiful dancer who turns asid;e from the attentions of all sorts of wealthy idlers and gives a clean heart to the old friend of her childhood who turns up to see her dancing turn. The story da full of thrils thereafter. There ai-e some miracles o*f film photography, particularly the greait iballet scene where the dan- , cers in the filmiest garb are shown with i'aaitajstical light effects upon their floating draperies.. The other star is "The Duchess of Doubt," which gives attractive Emmy Whelen iaj chance to do some of her finest work.
