"Man and Beast," due at Ev erybody's to-night provides a welcome change from tlie nsnal run of pictures in that it includes a number of animal actors of great intelligence, the finest, example of training- and sagacity being that of a magnificent elephant. The story also involves liufman actors in a plot of intense interest. On Monday a powerful Mutual masterpiece, "The Craving" will be put on. It tells of a man's gallant ®figlvt, temporary * def ea { and final victory over an inliereditary taint that- over shadows his life. Song composers have evidently been keenly competing one with another during the past few months, and many very pretty and de. lightful melodies have been the result. * Catchy chorus songs, charming ballads wholesomely pur© in sentiment, and swinging march songs are to be found amongst the most successful songs of the day.
