Land Sales.

SOME DESIRABLE LEVIN FARMS. That Levin land has a good name among farmers was exemplified in the success of the big land sale on Saturday last, and another opportunity to secure splendid dairy farms in this favoured locality is to be given in the sale by public auction of the properties comprising the Ivirlccaldie Estate. Two freehold farms and two leaseholds are offered. The former are among the choicest areas in this district, highly improved and well adapted for profitable dairying or stud farming. This is particularly the case with the homestead block of 70 acres which has the additional attraction of a handsome residence and complete outbuildings. The sites of the freeholds bordering on the Horowhenua Lake must become increasingly valuable as the district grows .and the sporting facilities of this fine stretch of water are improved. The leaseholds also are both valuable properties, one of these also oil the shores of the. Lake. Full particulars are to be found in our advertising columns.

FUTURE OF THE FARMING INDUSTRY. On S a.turday at Levin <£35,000 worth of land changed hands at prices that set a new standard of values for the district and winch show the confidence the average farmer has in the future of the farming industry. Buyers were present from all parts of the North Island and tliey were attracted by the easy terms and the undoubted quality of the land. Drieu milk is talked of wherever farmers gather and men in the best position to jknow are sanguine that the industry is in for a prosperous time. The town-bred (man is casting a tout for somewhere to drop anchor so that he may participate and the departure of mini'-, bers of farmers to the front is thus being counterbalanced in part by the influx of the small capitalist from the . cities. To meet the demand for good land Abraham and "Williams,-Ltd., are offering 821 acres in 20 farms ranging from 6 to 88 acres m extent. at Shannon oil Wednesday, July 17. Full particulars will be found in another column.
