Everybody's Pictures.
For to-morrow .night Everybody's will again combine in popular fashion pictures and vaude!ville. The series of illusions presented by Hardecu grow in difficulty and novelty as they proceed and are a never failing source of wonder to patrons. The big picture ' will feature Mae Murray in "At First Sight," a gripping romance with scenes of adventure and mystery tempered by humour as quaint as it is original. Everybody's announce that on Thursday evening the great Fox super de luxe production, "A Tale of Two Cities',", with that superb actor William Farnum in the dual part of Charles Darnay and Sidney Carton. All critics agree that in this representation every detail of Charles Dickens greatest story has been faithfully portrayed. The famous old scenes in London, Old Bailey, His Majesty's Gaol, Tellson's Bank, a,nd typical street scenes of the period are all managed with consummate art while the taking of the Bastille by the mob of Paris is a stirring scene which is historically correct in every way. But the whole presentation is, of course, dominated by Sidney Carton's sacrifice. The love of Carton, a happy-g'o-luek intemperate young iEnglishman, and Charles Darnay, an elegant French aristocrat, for Lucie Manette, _ Darnay's arrest and condemnation by a revolutionary tribunal in Paris, Csyton, who resembles Darnay in appearance, substitutes himself in prison for his rival, the latter goes free and the heroic Carton goes steadfastly to the guillotine in his place—these are the main incidents of the latter part of the story which closes with tlio simple but noble words that Dickens imputes to his hero: "It is a far, far better thing that I do than I have ever done; it is a far far better rest that I go to than I have ever known."
