Foxton Harbour Board Loan.

The poll authorising the striking of a rate as security for a loan for the purchase of the Foxton Wharf was carried by an overwhelming majority on Tuesday. Voting was not heavy bad weather preventing many ratepayers from g(;iiig to the poll in the country districts. Feilding and Levin had the distinction of being the places where no votes were east against the proposal. Mr B. R. Gardener acted as deputy reurning officer in Levm, and the arrangements for the poll were efficiently carried out by tlie secretary to the Harbour Board, Board, Mr W. Bock, to whom we are indebted for the complete results . There were two informal votes.
