Croquet.
A pliant day was .spent by the member* of die Levm Croquet Club at tile final clay of the Courts for the season. Progressive croquet, was pla.vod for trophies donated by Miss Herrick and Mr Tait, and these were won by Mrs Pink (first) and Mrs Kirk (second). Trophies won during the- year wore pve"fnW to the winners as follows by tho Club presHlonp, Mrs Clark: Trophy donated by Mr E. S. Lancaster, singhis, -Miss Wliiitaker 1. Mrs S. Hall 2; Ladder competition, presented by Mis Keedwell and Ml* S. Hall, Mrs Hall 1, Mrs Lancaster 2: Christmas Competition. donated by Mrsdmnes Mclnityro. and Kirk, Mrs Pc-rtcous 1, Mrs S. Hall 2; Consolation pr.wl yiven liy !Mr« .-Nicholson. Mrs Holdaway 1 ; Handicap doubles, won by Mesdamcs S. Hall and Wallace. Mri-dames Kirk and McTntyro being second; Handicap singles, Mrs Mrs Lancaster 1. Mt,s Kirk 2. The President referred jrrn-tvTu'lly to the work done in the interests of the Club by the lion. secretary. Mr.s fi. Hall, and, on -behalf of the members presented her with a gift in ooken of their appreciation. S'iie al o spoke highly of the services of the caretaker of the screen, Mr A\*. Broughton, and prescnted him With a silver-mounted pipe on behalf of the Club. The 'Club lia.s had a very successful season. The Pollock Stars have been keenly competed for 'Imring ,'.he season among local players and three ont-ide challenges were successfully defended by the holders, Meisdames Kirk and Lancaster, the clvaJ--1 enters being the Fox ton (twice) and Palmerston Clubs.
