Dalgety and Co. roponb having hold their usual weekly Levin sale on Tuesday, 30th April, u lien they offered a medium yarding of silieep and cattle. Hoggets were ,n fair demand but other classes of sheep wet .• ne-glected. Cr,mpetition for young caUle was fair, but there were no buyers present lor steers. The principal sales were as under: Medium woolly lambs, lis 3d to 14s 5d ; medium shorn lambs, lis 'jo lis Cd; 2i-year steers (coloured), £9 15s; 15-month steers, £0 lis; poor weaneivs, 17b 6d. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held' a successful clearing sale on the farm, Manakau. on behalf of Mr R. C. Calleiultir, on Wednesday last. There' was fairly keen competition for the 21 dairy cows which came under the hammer, and considering that this fi:.ocik was in ruthcr poor condition, prices realised must be considered satisfactory. Bidding for young stock was also keen and the sale all through was spirited. The principal prices were as under: Daily cows close to calving, £13, £15; springing calves. £7 10s, £10; dry and cull cows, £5, £6 10s; 2-vear springing heifers, £9, £'10 10s. A large catalogue of sundries was also offered and these brought full clearing sale rates.
