Brilliant Deeds in the Air
LONDON, April 9.
Captain Trollope, of the Air Forces, is reported missing. Ho recently brought down six aeroplanes in a single day, beating Captain Ball's record bag of five.
Details of Trollope's victories show that during the morning he shot the first aeroplane to pieces. It broke in mid air. Another two-seater went down in flames. A third was a singleseater, which was forced into a spin, and was seen to crash to the earth.
During the afternoon lie attacked a two-seater, which, exploded in midair, and fell to pieces. Then he saw two two-seaters low down. Trollope crashed both. Finally he saw 12 Huns attacking an Englishman, and went for them. The Englishman escaped and Trollope, having no more ammunition, retired. Count von Eichtofen, the celebrated German airman, was wounded while bringing down his 75th adversary. Eichtofen is the best known of all German lighting airmen. Ilis scoro of 75 'planes is higher than that of Immelmann or Boelke, but is is be- i lieved that at least one British airman } has a score as big to his credit. ji
