Wellington coal dealers have c:.mplainej of the curtailment of supplies i'or industrial and household purposes. At a well-attended meeting of these dealers on Thursday night it was stated that the great majority of the yards had been cleaned up and that the total quantity held by ali dealers did not exceed ten tons. It was decided to request the local Coal Committee '■ to consider earnestly the urgent need for more liberal treatment of the dealers."
It is understood that the situation has been made exceptionally difficult by the reduction of supplies from New Zealand mines and Australia. There have been heavy demands for overseas shipping and railways and industries scheduled a3 "most cssertial."
