There is no doubt the rural course is almost directly responsible for this state of affairs. Jn !9l > the matter was represented to the "Education Board, tue Director of Education, and the members of Parliament for the district.. Practically nothing has been done and the position is still wisatisfactory. This is a matter which the householders in general meeting' should take some steps to remedy mid thus support and strengthen any action the Committee may deem advisable. IN MEMORIAM. An enlarged photo of the late Lieut. Foss has been placed in the School. Donations of one penny each were received from the children subsidised by the members of the Committee. During the past year the great war of nations has accounted for a number of ex-pupils of the School. Your Committee desire to talce this opportunity of exnressimy their deepest sympathy with the "parents and relatives of 'hose brave b(Tys who have so nobly sacrificed thMr lives m the =-.tru<2'2'le for liberty and justice.
