LAST NIGHT'S CONCERT. The conce rli editlnal? BbMtlm The concert held in Farland's Theatre last evening was an unqualified success, not only from the financial aspect, but by reason of the general excellence of the programme. Messrs Mottershead and Porteous 3 two local favourites, again pleased their auditors with excellent numbers nicely rendered. Miss Gray's rendering of "'Tis the Hour of Farewell" was very pleasing, while Miss Scott's "Sympathy" secured her a recall. Mr A. Prmgle caught the fancy of the audience with "If I could come to you, and for an encore gave God be with you." The clever work of the native quartette, the Hakaria brothers, Messrs Ellers and Car-" ter was one of the features of the evening, and they 'earned. fully the loud applause of the audience. Master Thompson's reciting, the pianoforte work of Miss White and Miss Best and the sailor's hornpipe by Mr Guild added variety and interest to the screening of a comic picture by programme, which was -brought to a. successful conclusion by the Mr Farland.
