Levin's Gardens*
The Reserves Committee of the Borough Council made the following recommendations to the Borough - Council at Monday b meeting: (1) That'the- area of land lately cropped with potatoes in Cambridge street ana Kent street, and forming part of the public gardens,, be prepared and got ready for laying out ffl. accord ance with the plan that might be chosen by the Council. \A) That all docks and weeds be dug out aiid removed from the ground. (3) That Mr Black, of Palmerston North, be asked to furnish liis promised plan or his proposals as to the best method: to plant and lay out the new area, in concord with the other portion of the Gardens already treated;that he be asked to reserve a space for a Memorial Band Rotunda, if required. (4) That the Borough Overseer, be, authorised to construct or obtain a gate for the entrance to the Gardens in accordance with his plan submittedCr Lancaster moved the adoption of the report, stating the reserve was now in excellent order for laying out. The report was adopted. " ' ~ ■
