Amcngst the accounts submitted to the Levin Borough Council on Monday night was one for £50 being the Mayor's annual honorarium for the year just closing. The Town Clerk said that Mr Blenkhorn had instructed that the money be paid to the ton. secretary of the County Patriotic Fund. The Mayor's generous action was warmly applauded jjy the Council. Mesclames Davidson and Plaster had charge of the Bed Cross Shop oh Saturday. The takings amounted to £i 8s 4d. The following sent saleable gifts: Mesclames J. Prouse, Goldsmith, Bull, Bolsted. J. W. Proctor, Hooper, Phillips, Bennett, Allen, Cately, Harding, Kirk, Park, Windelev, Blenkhorn, H. M. Thompson, D. Gibson, S. Butts, Palmes, Tully, P. O. Smith, Bulliman, Mackenzie, Heslop, Page, S. Parsons, W. Ryder, Misses McKegg, C. Parsons, Messrs Moxham, Douglas Yickers, Tomlinson, Barnett, W. Ingram, Blackburn.
