SALE OF KUKU LAND.

SPIRITED BIDDING. At noon to-day Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., in conjunction with Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., offered for sale the lease of one of the farms in the J.R. McDonald Estate—a choice property of 143 acres in the famous Kuku district. The value put 011 land in the vicinity of Levin was well evidenced by the spirited bidding for the property, which was eventually knocked down to Mr Thomas Hillard (whose farm adjoins the leasehold) for the handsome sum of £1550. The lease has fourteen years to run at an annual rental of 30s an acre. Mr Jas. Moodie, of Wellington, was the auctioneer.
