Produce Market.
Wellington, March 8. The N.Z. Farmers' Distributing co., Ltd., report: The local potato market has been exceptionally well supplied this past week and consequently prices have been somewhat low. The oat market is at present somewhat unsettled and latest sales hqve been made at advanced rates. Maize is in rather short supply and any lines offering are realising satisfactory figures. New season's rye grass seed is now on offer but the quality in many cases is somewhat inferior. Cocksfoot is still short in supply and high prices are ruling. Pig meals of all-descriptions are exceedingly scarce and prices are expected to take a further rise. Poultry is in fair demand an\l satisfactory values are being realised. . Fowl feed is short and is commanding good prices. Pork is coming to hand in very limited quantities and all lines are realising exceptionally'high prices. Eggs are still scarce with figures advancing. Honey is being enquired for at advanced rates.
I Cabbages are very plentiful with low prices ruling. CauiiI flowers are offering' in small quantities at higher figures. Carrots are fairly plentiful. N.Z. onions are in good supply with prices somewhat lower. Parsnips are in fair demand. There is a good supply of white turnips. Lettuce is also in fair demand with prices somewhat similar to last week. French beans are very plentiful and consequently prices are low. There is a fair supply of marrows which realise good values. _ Fair quantities of swedes are coming hand and values are lower . Tomatoes are now somewhat scarce and consequently prices have ad--vanced considerably. A few green peas have come to hand during the past week but as the condition has ).iot been at all saisfactory prices are of course lower. Cucumbers are still very plentiful and are hard to dispose of at any figure. , . Dessert apples are in fair supply and are commanding satisfactory values. Cooking apples are also coming in in fair quantities. Pears, both dessert and cooking, are realising good figures. Quinces are in short supply but those offering have brought top market rates. Blackberries are coming to hand in fair quantities and good prices are ruling. QUOTATIONS. Potatoes, prime white <£5 to A 7
