Mr Ryder drew attention at Monday's meeting of the Levin Domain Board to the spread of pennyroyal in the Domain, and it was agreed to have it dealt with before it gets'too firm a hold.

Mr. G-. MacJsay, representative for Hudson's Balloon Brand Baking Powder (A. S. Paterson aiul Co.) was a visitor to Levin, yesterday in connection with tlie local agency which has been taken lip by Mr T. Broome, of the Cash Supply Stores. This is an oldestablished article which has been on the market in New Zealand for fifty years and is manufactured in the Dominion from pure grape cream of tartar. A bull of an inquisitive turn of mind raided Messrs Bull and Co.'s produce store in Queen street on Tuesday. At meeting "of the Levin Domain Board;; the secretary, Mr 15. it. Gardener, read correspondence with Mr Iv. Hollis, caretaker of the Municipal Golf Links at Berhampore, upon the subject of establishing municipal links on the Levin Domain. Mr Gardener asked Mi f Hollis whether he -would be able to visit Levin and inspect the land, and stated that the area available was about 32 acres. Mr Hollis agreed to report on the proposed site of the links and to leave the amount of his remuneration to the Council. The Secretary also reported that lie had notified Mr N. Kirkcaldie, lessee of the Domain, of tlie Board's intention to proceed wath the work t)f making the links, but stating that in the opinion of tlie Board, the links would not interfere with his grazing rights. •
Quartermaster - Sergeant Fletcher, brother of Mr L. W. Fletcher, of Uiakara, returned to Llevin this morning. He left with the Seventh lieinf'orcements and has seen 'considerable service on the western front and now returns oil duty. Q.M.S. Fletcher left as a private and not only returns with the highest non-commission-ed rank, but has also earned the Military Medal for valour on the field. It is ! interesting to note that Q.M.S. Fletcher's father has been a prisoner on parole in Germany for over two years and only recently, on reaching the age of 55 years, was allowed to return to Great Britain. The Returned soldier hopes to be here for a few weeks find then will report for duty again.
