Preliminary entries for the 1 Horowhenua Show closed on Saturday night, «and the secretary (Mr It. D. Wallace) reports a very gratifying response. Already he J lias-received 330 entries and sever- -I : al of the largest exhibitors have \ not yet completed their lists. It is expected when the various class- ■ f es are finally closed next Saturday ' - that all the elements of a splendid show will be available, both as regards quantity and quality. m Intending exhibitors are asked i' to note that the time of receiving v®entries will finally close on Satur. ;$! day next at 5 o'clock at the secretary's office. LevinSeveral very handsome trophies, Sj are available for competitions thiß .uf year, and they should give zest to the classes in which they are ;||j offered. Mr "Wallace has received the Davies Memorial Cup, pr6s- , "-W ented by Mr Fred Davies for most )1| points m fat sheep and lambs. It , i|| is a trophy well worth holding and 'M should stimulate competition amongst the sheepmen. Then there is a-fine cup for the Best heifer ot cow in pure-breds. The bangles \' t for the ladies' driving competit- . ; ion and the best ladies' hack are also fine samples of the gold- 'li smith's art and should bring many 'M. competitors into the show ring. J
