Mr M. Siegel notifies that he has' sold his interest in Everybody's {pictures and thanks the public for their generous support. Mr Siegel's health has not been too good' of late and he has been ordered a rest. A sensational robbery occurred at Taumarunui about half-past three on Christmas morning. Ihe premises of Franklanjl and Halt, butchers, opposite the railway station, were entered, and the olfice safe blown open by an explosive. About £275 worth of jewellery was stolen- It was the property of William Wall en, jeweller, who had it there for safe keeping over "the holidays. For tunately, Frankland and Hart's cash takings, running into nearly £300, were lodged elsewhere. The safe was moved two yards before the charge was mj sorted, suggesting that more than one was concerned in the robbery. The sound of the explosion was .heard by the railway staff, who thought it was a gunshot.
