j Alleged Allied Imperialism, i French Parliament Votes Confidence. Received Tlv.'s tDiiy 10.si.in. Paris, December 28. r J lio Chamber of Deputies unanimously voted confidence in tlie Government, this following on M- Piehon's reply to a Socialist interpellation charging the Allies with Imperialist aims and practising- secret diplomacy at the expense of their peoples. / A!. Pie-lion said that, after -the soldiers' heroism, the miseries suffered and the destruction of towns, it was impossible to accept Germany's la,test 1 hypocritical proposals for a lying peace on the ha wis of (lie status quo, including (he pre-war economic regime. France demanded an indemnity itnd reparation. The Allies were in. complete agreement regarding (heir aims. Alsace-Lorraine was for France the very symbol of right. ■Received This, Djiy 10.3 ia.m. Stockholm, December 28. M. B ranting, a prominent Scandinavian Socialist, hitherto pro-Ally in his -views, in a remarkable article iir-tire-StfcM Demokraten, says it is out of the question that the Allies should reject the Austro-German peace offer outright. The Allies in. the past year (have given overmuch rein to Imperialistic influences and it is high time this was corrected. The Allied statement neglected the revision of their war aims. Which ought to have been a self-evident duty demanded by the whole of revolutionary Russia after the unmasking of the secret treaties. If the Allies coldly reject. the offer the "peoples of the world will regard it as a foolish act,;and once discussion is begun the' world's opinion will demand that it be followed up.
