Liberated, Not Captured. Jewish Rejoicings Keceived This Day, 8.40 a.m. -•?:London, Dec 12. It is understood (ion era] Alleirby and staff entered Jersalem afoot, emphasising- the fact that the city has been liberated not captured. - There were special celebrations in various places of worship, including a Te Deum in St. Pauls, to mark the capture of Jerusalem. Berne, Dec. 12. The Sultan is seriously ill with a breakdown following the British victories in Palestine and Mesopotamia, lteceived This Day, 9.15 a.mOdessa, December 12. There was a great Jewish demonstration on learning Britain's plans regarding the Jews in Palestine. Fifteen thousand participated in a procession two miles in length, marched past the British Consulate, and asked the Consul to convey their gratitude to Britain.
