At the sale of Karamu thoroughbreds which was held on Friday of last week by Iloadley, Son and Stewart, Ltd., in conjunction with Williams and Kettle, Ltd., it was noticeable that practically every province in the Dominion was represented round tlie sale ring, and "dry" districts like Wairarapa competed with "wet" districts such as Taranaki for some of the lots. Whether Masterton's "dryness'' had anything to do with the bidding or not, is not known, but the two highest priced lots of the sale both went in that direction. It was a rattling good sale, and both firms of auctioneers have reason to be congratulated upon the result.— "Hawke's Bav Herald."
