By a fire at the Silver Grid four boarders lost their lives and many others were severely injured by jumping on to a glass veranhah from the windows. Three outbreaks of lire were discovered in Coker's Hotel, but were extinguished. November 20. Shortly after midnight another fire was discovered in Coker's Hotel. The bedding in a bedroom was alight but was quickly overcome. On the departure of the Fire Brigade the Police took the building under their care.
