THAT SECOND DIVISION LEAGUE.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —Can you enlighten one who lias been badgered to join this organisation as to the. why and the wherefore of the local offi-Jioot of the Second (Division League ? I have been perusing the personnel of ,'bhe committee of same —no djoubt useful and ornamental citizens all. But who do they represent ? Wliiaifc are they doing ? How were they elected ? I notice among them a La'rge and varied assortment ,of civil servants, a big representation of, >'jhe capitalist class, people who havp; only been five minutes in the town, and- an' elderly gentleman or two who • must bo well over military age. But the long-suf-fering working man, where, oh where is he ? He does most of the fighting and yet, he 'has no place on |ihe committee ? I am, etc., THE UNDER DOG. Our correspondent's ill-natured sarcasm misses the mn'rk. If he will read to.dlay's "Chronicle" he will see that the Committee of the League, realising that it does not now represent liihe full membership, has decided to tender its resignation to the meeting tomorrow night. Tt "Undo:- Dog" .wanite to :bark to any purpose he had better roll up to the meeting. One so fond of questions should not object to being asked what ho hn,« ever done to further the interests of the Second Division thaj'j gives him the right to sneer at the men who blazed tho track.— Ed. "Chronicle."
