Yet another Levin lad has made iho supreme sacrifice 011 the battlefields of France. Mr and Mrs Jas. The deceased was about 22 years of age and was born '.!n Levin* and educated at the public school. He was a plumber by trade and when he heard the call of war and du£y was in the employ of Mr G. Thompson. He went away with the 26tli Reinforcement as lately as June last and so oould have only been in ihe fir wig line for a little wh':le before his death. A quiet, unassuming young man, of sterling character and manly qualifies he made many friends, especially in the circles in which lie most moved, for ih'e was a valued member of the iLevin F're Brigade and a keen footballer. All who knew him speak well of him and will sympathise with his parents, very old and respected resident of Levin, and the family in their hour of trial. Their consolation w J ill lie in the know, letjge that their son died, one df a brave and gallanp company, fighting that others might enjoy "a goodly heritage*' of peace and liberty.
