RECORD RED CROSS DAY.
; Messrs Abraham and Williams' staff, together with the wives of Mr and Mrs W. and J. Ryder, ; Messrs Ryder (2), Walter, and j Campbell, had a record day at i the Red Cross shop last Saturday I in aid of the County Fund. Busij ness throughout the day was brisk and resulted in the sum of £104 1 being added to the fund. The I winners of the four competitions j were as follow : —Tin of biscuits, ' Mrs Crowe cake, Mrs R. RobinI son; sucking pig, Miss Elina Mid- ' dleton; dressed lamb, Miss L. J Ward. Mrs A. W. Richter and ' Mr F. O. Smith tied in guessing | the weight of the sheep.
