FIGHTING IN FLANDERS.

British Airmen Busy. Received October 30, 11 a.m. LONDON, October 29 Tlio Franco-Belgians carried out a successful operation northward of Mercket. The French capiured Luighem village and the Allies no»v hold the whole cf Mercket Peninsula. A British official report says : There is reciprocal artillery fighting on the battle front. Our aeroplanes were busy all day on Saturday. They fired several thousand rounds at ground targets from heights of 100 to 1000 feet. Many places were bombed and at night our squadrons dropped four tons of explosives on seven aerodromes and three important railway stations. Enemy aeroplanes repeatedly attacked but ours never failed to reash their objective and we downed eleven enemy planes. Nine of ours are missing.
