Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report : At Waikanae on Thursday we had a small yarding of sheep and a good one of cattle. All lines were well competed for and practically a total clearance was made at the following prices : — Fat wethers £2 Is to £2 3s; empty ewes 26s 6d. 3 year bullocks £15, 2 year steers £9 6s to £10 7s, forward cows £10 5s to £10 12s 6d. Store Cows £6 4s, £6 6s. yearling steers £6 12s to £7 13s, bulls £5 2s 6d, £8, weaner bulls £3 to £5 Heifers in calf £5 10s, Springing heifers £7 to £10 ]2s 6d. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report that at their Levin sale on Tuesday they offered a large yarding of hoggets and a fair entry of cattle. Bidding was inclined to drag, and a few lots were passed at auction, but no sheep were allowed to leave the yards unsold. They quote: M.s. woolly hoggets 2Ss 9d, 29s 6d, 30s 326 9d to 34s ; cull hoggets 23s to 24s 8d; lightweight'fat heifers to £11 10s : empty store cows to £8 13s ; yearling heifers to £5 17s ; weaner steers, bad colours, £4 4s ; springing cows to £13 ; springing heifers to £10 ; young bulls to £9 15s.
