DOES LEVIN DO ITS SHARE?
(To the Editor.) Sir, —You head a debatable subject as above, and, as a business man, I will admit for tho sake of argument that Levin does not. Why ? Because the schedule of the show is of very little interest to us. It has gone along in the same humdrum manner for years—three or four prizes for dairy stock and the rest of the money for studs and fats. The latter are for the big man, and the show committee should bear in mind that business people don't care 2d for the few big holders. It is the large number of smaller ones they are interested in. Dairying is our principal industry and therefore my advice to the Show Committee is : Increase the schedule by three times its present size. Poultry is our next; therefore, put in about 30 classes for utility birds ; home industries—put in a strong schedule for this important and interesting part of the show. Do as the Palmerston show does and the Levin people will do as well by you as the Palmerston people do by theirs. You will want no special effort to finance the Association, and you'll be able to increase your Secretary's salary by a decent amount instead of £10. You are otherwise only asking us to be benevolent towards you.—l am, etc., EX-MEMBER. Levin, October 10.
