FARLAND'S PICTURES.
MARY PICKFORD AND . BEERBOHM TREE.
To-night and to- morrow night •Farland's presents a double attraction in two splendid films, featuring two equally famous artists —Mary Pickford and the late Sir Beerbohm Tree. The former appears in the delightful old fairy legend, " Cinderella." The staging, dressing, scenic effects, and illusions are all on a scale befitting the presentation of such a charming little actress, whose genius has endeared her to mil- | lions. Children should see this 1 delightful story on the screen, and parents will find themselves following the fortunes of " Mary Cinderella as closely as their little one. Only the magic of the movies can power of one who has gone remain to influence and charm. Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree, Britain's tragedy king, was only drawn into the world of silent drama a few months before he died. He made an amazing success in his new sphere, and one of his greatest performances was the father in " The Old Folks at Home." The story is founded on the oldest of all themes—parental love. The acting of Josephine Crowell as the mother rises to tremendous heights in the last trial scene where her impassioned appeal for her son's life is successful. Mildred Harris is dainty and convincing as the country sweetheart of the old folk's son, and she has ample scope for her reserve of emotional power. The 'unwritten law" plays an important part in this play, and its . use is powerfully lent to acquit the son of the consequences of this hot-blooded crime.
Some star films are coming to Farland's in the next few.weeks. "Intolerance" is billed for next Monday. " Peg o' the Ring" is one of the serial successes of the year, " Infelice " has also made a big hit, and Charley Chaplin is to cause sore sides with one of his very best, The Count."
