• A social gathering and dance is to be held at Poroutawliao liuia (meetinghouse) 011 Wednesday of nest week, in aid of the Maori Patriotic Fund for Relief of 'Wounded Maori 'Soldiers. A sub-eommittee consisting of Messrs Mailt! Hangina, D. Tatana, Wire 111 u Keriona, and Miliaka Karepa, is making complete arrangements for the event. Amongst the contributors to the musical program will be na/tives from Otaki, Levin and Fox ton. Patriotic speeches will be delivered by Tuiti Macdonald and other Native speakers.
The Levin Patriotic Society's sendoff concert to the X<evin reinforcements wil l>e given next Friday evening. Details are advertised. All extended iioteie wil lappear in next 'Thursday's Chronicle. Shannon and A\ aikanae stock sales will 'be held tlifs week. Messrs Abralia maud _ Williams advertise, on page 3, the entries.
