Mr Ward Price telegraphs that before the Allies occupied the Royalist centre, an auxiliary cruiser was ikept under orders for three days by the naval authorities. Regarding the effectiveness of iron cases, the correspondent adds that only bitter need can have induced the Prussians to tamper with munitions in war time. ■ENGINEERS' WAQES. The Committee of Production is en-' paged in hearing the Engineering Trade Union's claim for a 10s weekly advance, in consequence of the increased food prices. The advance involves an expenditure of an extra 'half million sterling weekly. "CREATING A R.TOT." A Dublin Magistrate discharged three men charged with having broken into the ruins of tlie post office and having set fire, to the timber. A police superintendent gave evidence that a crowd of three thousand was outside. He arrested the prisoners at the revolver point, and wihen the orowd threatened to rescue them the superintendent fired two shots in the air. Tlie magistrate said the police did their best to create a riot, but fortunately they failed.
